Jurgita, tell me what was the situation of your teeth before you started building aligners?
I already had orthodontic treatment with braces a good 6 years ago, but even with the retainer wire and wearing the plate at night, my lower teeth started to crook. Well, the situation before the graves was not the same as before the first orthodontic treatment, but I was not satisfied with the fact that the lower teeth visually began to migrate to their old places.
Why did you choose teeth straightening with transparent crowns produced in Lithuania?
At first I wanted to get braces again because I knew it wouldn't last long, but the orthodontist suggested I try the D Aligner aligners, saying that the treatment time would be similar and less uncomfortable than with braces.
Tell us about the course of treatment, the adaptation period, the difficulties experienced? What would you say are the biggest advantages of graves?
Only 7 pairs of caps were made for me, so the treatment lasted a little over 2 months. Compared to braces, I felt much less discomfort, because nothing irritated my lips and cheeks, but the feeling of pulling my teeth and the "pain" was the same. Also, during the entire treatment period, I was washing a little while wearing the graves. The most difficult part of wearing the caps was probably brushing my teeth after eating before putting the caps on, because there wasn't always time for that at work, so sometimes I wore the caps less than recommended. But I think the biggest advantage of braces is that you can take them out and clean your teeth and interdental teeth well, because braces made the cleaning process very difficult, and besides, they are practically invisible, which is also a big plus.
How would you encourage those who are hesitant about getting their teeth straightened?
From personal experience, I can say that when choosing graves, you will feel much less unpleasant sensations, such as: sores on the cheeks, putting wax on braces, constantly stuck food remains, sticking out and stabbing wire. It's also great fun that you don't have to stop smiling, because the graves are practically invisible.
